This morning, grinding coffee as cats twined urgently around my legs and attempted the feat of twining underneath my feet as well. Patiently, I filled the coffee maker with Brita water (does that constitute product placement?). Impatiently, they relentlessly announced "Rowr!" Ever since we put them on that kitty Atkins diet, they have become aggressive nomads, instead of peaceful agrarians.
Ha. There I am kidding myself.
Late morning to the farmers' market. One lady, very sweet and kind looking, was selling popcorn. I'm not seeing much point in the product, particularly on hot summer mornings. It seemed a shame to disappoint her, but I hate popcorn even on cold evenings at the movies. Foul stuff. I don't even know why they call it a farmers' market over there. There was a blues band, people selling tablecloths, an Avon booth, a soap booth, a glassblowers booth, bubble tea, crepes while-u-wait. There were maybe 3 actual farmer booths. Not that I mind, but there's some message drift, clearly.
Picked up
tuberoses. I did not know what they were, but they smelled good. Luckily, the guy who presumably grew them called them tuberoses. The hubster called them
"alien pods." The buds aren't open yet. Along with that, acquired sunflowers and paid additional monies for some fuzzy yellow weeds. Where I grew up fuzzy yellow weeds were free to the unwashed masses, but now they are called flowers and I buy them to fluff out the sunflower and tuberose arrangements. They look mighty fine too. The Ginger Menace was already eyeing the flowers with baleful appetite. It's a good thing I'm not one of those chicks who wants everything nice and not destroyed by cats in the dark of night or called "alien pods."
They do kinda look like alien pods too.
